Nursing students’ perceptions of support and active learning regarding simulation-based education in Lesotho: A quantitative study

Background. Simulation has taken centre stage in health sciences education the context of increasing adoption a competency-based curriculum. replicates facets real world an interactive manner that allows students to learn clinical skills and develop reasoning safe learning environment. Facilitators have responsibility provide adequate instructional psychological support students, while facilitating active self-directed simulation environment.Objective. To explore describe students’ perceptions regarding simulation-based (SBE) Lesotho.Methods. A quantitative descriptive exploratory study was conducted using validated questionnaire. total 275 nursing participated study. stratified systematic random sampling method used data were analysed SPSS version 27.Results. The majority participants (87.9%) had positive perception offered prior, during after simulation, which they appreciated. Active also perceived positively, as most indicated actively in, not merely observed, simulation. results showed significant associations between opportunity given discuss objectives with teacher various institutions (p<0.05 (p=0.01)). Institutions trained facilitators provided their teacher.Conclusion. student are essential when conducting SBE. Supporting involving them process lead effective learning.
